Go Green with Chick-Fil-A Salads

Fast food and I are good friends.  I always seem to be rushing off somewhere and when I'm on the go, I often find myself in line a Chick-Fil-A.  As part of the Chick-Fil-A Mom Panel, I occasionally get coupons for some free products.  This Mother's Day, they surprised us with two free coupons - one of which was to try the new Spicy Southwest Salad.  And as luck would have it, the calendar card offer for May was also a free salad.  I hadn't previously tried any of the salads at Chick-Fil-A, but these two coupons gave me the perfect reason to try them out.

Both salads are I tried were delicious!  The Cobb Salad is delicious featuring Chick-fil-A's famous chicken that we all know and love.  If you're looking for something with more of kick, check out the Spicy Southwest Salad.  The Spicy Southwest Salad saves some calories as it features grilled chicken.  Whichever one you choose, both come in at 500 calories or less before you add dressing - which is a much better choice than many fast food options out there.

And now Chick-fil-A has launched the new Chick-fil-A One app.  You can earn rewards, save your favorite menu items, and pre-order before arriving at the restaurant.  All of this combines to make your dining experience not only delicious, but quick and easy.  If you download the new app by June 11, you'll also receive a free menu item!  For those of you looking to make healthier choices when eating on the go, they are offering their grilled chicken sandwich as one of those free item options.  Be sure to check it out!

Feeling "Super" about the New Superfood Side at Chick-Fil-A!

Over the past few weeks, Chick-fil-A has announced a few big changes.  One of those big changes was the debut of the new Superfood side.  I have to admit that I was skeptical at first - kale has never been a food I've sought out before.  However, in an effort to try and eat healthy while eating out, I decided to get the grilled nuggets and superfood side one night for dinner and I was pleasantly surprised!

The superfood side includes kale, broccolini, and dried cherries tossed with a maple vinaigrette dressing.  There is also a serving of mixed nuts that come on the side if you'd like to add them to your salad.  The dressing and cherries add a touch of sweetness and tanginess to this dish.  When you add the grilled chicken nuggets, it makes a great protein and vegetable combo for a healthy lunch or dinner.

As a busy mom and runner, I'm always looking balance quick and convenient food with healthy dishes for me and my family.  Chick-fil-A has found a great mix with these two products!

Running on. . .Chick-Fil-A!

Some of you are already aware that I was invited to join the Chick-Fil-A Moms Panel this year and couldn't be more excited!  I can't remember exactly when my love of Chick-Fil-A began, but I know it was love at first bite of their delicious chicken strips and then my introduction to Chick-Fil-A sauce took our relationship to the next level.  As a busy working mom, Chick-Fil-A is one of my favorite places to stop on and pick up a quick lunch or dinner for the family.  And as a runner, I enjoy the fact that there are some healthier options on the menu too that are equally delicious.

As a member of the Chick-Fil-A Moms Panel, I will be responding to inquiries, answering questions, and giving a moms point of view on programs and products from Chick-Fil-A.  So far, I've found a few other Chick-Fil-A Moms from the Maryland area and I am looking forward to connecting with even moms from around the U.S.  If you're interested in following our fun, search #chickfilamoms on social media networks!
  
As a runner, I think of food for my body as fuel.  While I certainly enjoy indulging a bit from time to time, it's great to have a place like Chick-Fil-A where I can get healthy fast food options to keep me running - as an athlete and a mom!
