What's breakfast without Mickey Waffles on your Disney Cruise?

Cruising on a Disney Cruise Line vacation means there is magic around every corner. . .even when it comes to the food!  You are sure to find something for everyone (and then some!) when you are on the Disney Dream.  Let's take a look at where to eat while on the Disney Dream.

Main Dining Rooms on the Disney Dream

As you may or may not know, Disney Cruise Line features a unique cruising feature - rotational dining.  Rotational dining means that each night of your cruise you change restaurants, but your wait staff travels with you.  This means you get to have varying dining experiences each night of your cruise with the bonus of having your waitstaff remain the same.  Like other cruise line restaurants, you'll find appetizers, soups, main courses, and desserts available regardless of where you are eating. Want to try more than one thing - just ask!  They'll be happy to make your dining wish come true.  Each restaurant also features a kid's menu so the little ones will find their favorites even when they're away from home.  During booking, you'll select either main dining or late dining.  Don't worry - all of the shows in the theater are scheduled so guests on either seating can enjoy them.

Animator's Palate

This is my favorite main dining room on the Disney Dream.  Located on Deck 3 Aft, the decor of the dining room celebrates all that is fabulous about Disney animation.  The chairs are designed after Mickey Mouse, bright colors, paint brushes, and screens that come to life right in front of you!  The first night you eat in the dining room, you'll get a great show where you go into the big blue with Nemo and friends.  In fact, Crush will swim around the dining room and talk to diners throughout the meal!  When we travel on a 4 night cruise, I always request Animator's Palate to be our dining room we eat in twice.  That means we get to dine in here on Pirates Night as well and, while the menu is the same in all three restaurants that night, you get treated to pirate artwork from Peter Pan, Pirates of the Caribbean and more during your dinner.  Animator's Palate is not only a delight for the eyes, but for your tastebuds as well.  You won't want to miss the Black Truffle Pasta Purseittes - they are rich and full of flavor!  

Enchanted Garden

Located Deck 2 mid-ship, Enchanted Garden takes you into a lush experience that will make you feel like you truly are inside of a beautiful garden.  Flower lights hang from the ceiling, a fountain adorns the center of the restaurant, and the decor is a mix of soft greens and light pinks.  The seating inside of this restaurant is also unique with several large, rounded booths lining the aisles.  On the menu, you'll find heavy use of fruits, veggies, and seafood as the "lighter" fare matches the lighter decor.  My two favorite items on this menu - the Ahi Tuna and Avocado Tower and the Cucumber Garden Roll.  Check your cruise app as well because you will often find Enchanted Garden open for sit down breakfasts while sailing on the Disney Dream as well.

Royal Palace

Looking for a restaurant fit for royalty?  Look no further than Royal Palace.  On Deck 3 mid-ship of the Disney Dream, you'll find this gorgeous restaurant.  This is the "fanciest" decor of any of the restaurants on ship making you feel like you really are that prince or princess you watch in your favorite Disney movies.  In fact, there is even artwork around the restaurant of your favorite princesses!  The menu has a heavy emphasis on French cuisine which means you won't want to miss the French Onion Soup - it's delicious!  While we enjoy Royal Palace for dinner, we also love visiting for breakfast and lunch during the cruise too.  My boys ate the Brioche French Toast most mornings for breakfast while mommy ordered off the kids menu because I can't go on a Disney Cruise and not eat some Mickey Waffles!

Quick Service Dining Locations on the Disney Dream

In addition to the seated dining locations on board the Disney Dream, guests will also find plenty of food options around the ship that don't require taking the time to eat a formal meal.  Whether you are working up an appetite while playing on the pool deck or looking for a late night snack, there is ALWAYS something to eat.

Cabanas

Located on Deck 11, the pool deck of the Disney Dream, you'll find Cabanas buffet.  Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, there is SOOOOOO much to choose from here - it's almost overwhelming.  I love the theme of this restaurant as all around you'll see the seagulls from Finding Nemo saying "Mine. Mine. Mine."  There is seating inside the restaurant, out on the deck, and near the pool.  Not only will you find main courses, but soups, salads, and sweets as well.  It's a great place to grab an on-the-go bite of food.  All food here is included in the cost of your cruise.

Flo's V-8 Cafe

Looking for even more of a drive-by option on the Disney Dream?  Cruise into Flo's V-8 Cafe also on the pool deck of the Disney Dream (Deck 11).  There are several choices here including pizza, sandwiches, chicken fingers, fries, fruit, and salads.  All of it is quick, hot, and ready to go.  It's the perfect place to grab a quick bite while playing in the pool. . .and it's all included with the cost of your cruise.

Eye Scream Ice Cream

Inspired by Monsters, Inc., you'll find these soft ice cream dispensers on Deck 11 of the Disney Dream too.  Good news - ice cream is FREE all cruise long here.  Be careful sharing that piece of information with your kids go. . .or they may never leave!

Vanellope's Sweets and Treats

Looking for something a little special for dessert?  Look no further than Vanellope's Sweets and Treats.  Here you will find deluxe ice cream sundaes, candy, cupcakes, and more.  These are over-the-top and look amazing.  But, before you enter the sweet shop, know that everything in here DOES carry an extra charge.  You'll find Vanellope's on Deck 11 of the Disney Dream as well.

Room Service

Like other cruise vacations, you can order food directly to your cruise stateroom.  There is a limited menu, but this also included n your cruise fare so it's a great option when you're having a lazy day in your room or if you have napping kids and are looking for a snack.  I also love the idea of having breakfast on my verandah as you watch the blue waters pass by and enjoy the views from the Disney Dream.

Adult Only Dining

Looking for a special date night without the kids?  Check out Remy and Palo on Deck 12 of the Disney Dream.  These two restaurants are reserved for guests 18 and over and are the only restaurants on ship that actually have a dress code.  Both also carry an additional fee for diners.  We have enjoyed dinner at Palo and the champagne brunch at Remy.  Palo features an Italian menu with many of your favorite dishes while Remy has a more upscale French cuisine menu.  Both are delicious and worth a visit for the adults dining in your party.  Reservations are incredibly popular so book early on the Disney Cruise Line website under your My Cruise Activities tab.  

In addition to all of these places, you'll find bars and snacks around the ship as well - some with an extra cost.  Don't pass up your chance to try a little bit of everything while on the ship.  I try to make it a habit to try a new place each day on board the Disney Dream because there is simply so much to enjoy!  Bon appetite!
